With the recent release of the Uncharted 3 full multiplayer experience on the Playstation Network, and the release of the full game right around the corner, I thought it’d be the perfect time to highlight a few Uncharted listings.
The Uncharted 2: Fortune Hunter Edition game, a perennial powerhouse that always commands big bucks, has popped back up in a no reserve auction. Remember, the Fortune Hunter edition was only available as a free prize to people that participated (and were lucky enough to win) in one of a few different promotional competitions. It had a single print run of 200 units and is undoubtedly the most coveted Uncharted collectable in existance.
Interestingly enough, another rare Uncharted collectable has also become available for sale. It’s the Uncharted 2 Limited Folio Edition Art Book. Naughty Dog and book publisher Ballistic Publishing partnered to print a single run of 200 of these books. In addition to being bound in suede and embossed with gold embellishments, each book features a certificate of authenticity which is hand signed by four key Uncharted 2 developers. These books don’t come up for sale very often. In fact, this is only the third book that I’ve ever seen available in the aftermarket.
Finally we have a replica of Drake’s Journal from Uncharted 2. Naughty Dog created these as marketing pieces and distributed them to retailers and some members of the press. The interior features pages that talk up the game, as well as a secret compartment that contained an Uncharted 2 lanyard & badge.
This is only a choice sampling of Uncharted collectables currently available. There are many more nice items out there (like Drake’s ring from Uncharted 1, though it’s not currently for sale.) Let’s hope Uncharted 3 continues this tradition of cool collectables.
