Mass Effect Limited Collectors Edition (XBOX 360)

The original Mass Effect Limited Edition was only available via online pre-order in the United States and Canada, as well as in-stores only in Mainland Europe.

In addition to the game it comes with:

* A fiction book titled Galactic Codex: Essentials – A 36-page guide to the Mass Effect universe, including a Citadel timeline, and a guide to all non-human races, biotics, and the key locations in the Perseus Arm of the galaxy.
* An art book titled A Future Imagined, which includes a collection of concept art from the game.
* A bonus DVD of exclusive Mass Effect background material and additional content, including:
o The Vision of Mass Effect documentary.
o The Making of Mass Effect documentary.
o Interactive Storytelling documentary.
o Inside BioWare documentary.
o Eighteen Mass Effect themed gamer-pics.
o Four dashboard themes.
o Ten songs from the Mass Effect soundtrack.
o Five historical trailers from X05 through E3 2007, and the official TV trailer.
o A demo for Blue Dragon and videos for Lost Odyssey, Halo 3, and Halo Wars.
o Design galleries featuring 600 concept-images with full audio commentaries by the game’s art directors.

It’s a pretty neat little set (at least according to pictures I’ve seen) and has become quite a desirable item. Prices haven’t really stabilized and they’ve sold for prices that differ by the hundreds.

  1. The line about the game not being available for sale at USA stores is wrong. I bought my Mass Effect LE at my local Gamestop store here in Chicago back when it first released.I also happened to win one of these in an online contest and I still have it sealed!

  2. Yeah, A bunch of my e-buddies and I won one of these Mass Effect LEs in an online contest. I can’t remember exactly what contest it was. If I remember, I’ll post up the details.

It’s cool that it’s worth so much, but I cherish my sealed copy too much to ever sell it.

There was also a promo DVD given away with pre-order of the game. Here are some pics of my copy:

I wonder what that’s worth these days. My gut tells me it’s probably worth a pretty penny right now.

  3. You know what, come to think of it, the LE was only available for sale via online pre-order. I completely forgot that, in fact, I did get mine via online preorder! D’oh! The reason I was thinking that I bought mine at a brick and mortar store is because my friend that was working at Gamestop at the time, hooked me up with the bonus DVD.
