I thought this would be a nice post to celebrate the release of Super Mario Galaxy 2 this sunday.
Mario’s Game Gallery was released by Interplay for both the pc and mac in 1995. It’s a collection of 5 parlour games; Checkers, Backgammon, Go Fish, Dominoes and Yacht (Yahtzee). This is also the very first game that introduced the world to Mario’s voice, Mr. Charles Martinet. It’s an amazing piece of history that continued on to this day.
Presage Inc. developed the game and was first released in 1995. Interplay’s (publisher) Mac division, MacPlay, released this port for the mac probably the same time as the PC version. Sierra would later re-release this title in 1998 under the cleverly thought-of name Mario’s FUNdamentals.
