The Original Xbox Launch Package

Howard Phillips who recently listed the Nintendo Power pack, has another epic listing.

My name is Howard Phillips and I was Nintendo’s original “Gamemaster” having worked at Nintendo from 1981 to 1991. Later in my career I worked at Microsoft from 1997 to 2006 in various roles including serving as a key member of the Original XBOX Console Launch Team during 2000-2001. Due to my unique level of involvement I was afforded a number of items including one that is clearly one-of-a-kind that I am now offering to the serious XBOX collector.

Highlights in the lot include:

The First Official Xbox Certification Submission DiscMounted is the original NHL Hitz disc dated June 28th, 2001 submitted by Midway on July 2nd, 2001. This is the disc that launched the XBOX biz as we know it today. This item was given to me in 2001 by the then-head of the XBOX Certification Team.

The original XBOX Launch Team translucent green version of the consoleWith two (2!) matching translucent green “DUKE” controllers, AV cord, and DVD remote – just 60 (?) were made. BillG’s signature is screened in metal underneath the XBOX jewel. The system is in good working condition (I played a game of Halo CE today to test it out 😉

The original XBOX prototype replica model in machined and polished metal with illuminated XBOX logoThe original working XBOX prototype used to evangelize to developers is ~18’x18″x18″ and weight about 25lbs! It now resides in a special glass case at Microsoft Headquarters. This prototype replica was given to me when I worked on the Launch Team – I don’t know if more than one of these was made – I have never seen another…

The original XBOX “Ship-It” “chip” dated November 15, 2001 awarded to each XBOX Launch Team Member Along with my personal Microsoft “Ship It” commemorative plaque used for mounting (with my last name misspelled – thx Msft!)

And tons more. Check it all out here.

He has also relisted the Nintendo Power Lot after the reserve was not met.
