The Gentle Physics and Science of Hazardous Materials is a wierd item – even by our standards. It’ a Famicom “game” developed in the early 90’s by Konami for a petroleum company called Idemitsu Kosan. It’s an instructional tool for employees and as such was never offered at retail. To even run the game, you need to use a wired little item adaptor called a Q-ta.
The auction for this one has closed, but took place on Yahoo! Auctions. The price started at ¥1,000 (US$10.50) but eventually closed at a hefty ¥401,010 ($4,213).
Any Famicom collectors want to weigh in on this sale?
Myself, I’m loving the artwork they opted for.
