Arcade Weekends

For many video game collectors, there is no item more desirable in the whole wide world than their own authentic arcade machine. You will meet a Gorfian doom: It’s another Arcade Weekends.

I will point out every week that arcade units purchased from auction sites usually have inflated prices — unless you live close enough to the seller that you can pick the unit up yourself. Many sellers know this and list their items as Local Pick-Ups only (marked here as LPUs). If you DO live near any of today’s sellers, some of these deals aren’t bad.

From Mechanicville (yes, it’s a place, and yes, all the mechanics come from there), New York: Donkey Kong cocktail unit, BIN at $350, buyer arranges shipping. The screen needs some adjustment.

From Mentor, Ohio: Pac-Man, BIN at $333.33, several shipping options.

From San Jose, California: Sunset Riders, ends soon at an insanely low price (current bid $36), LPU preferred but shipping is possible at buyer’s arrangement.

From Fort Wayne, Indiana: Killer Instinct 2 (not Gold, that’s what the home version was called), BIN at $950 but seller suggests he can be talked down in price later. The screen is out, but you almost never see a good KI machine under $1000. Also, the seller’s screen name is IMADINOSAURTHEYDONTMAKE’MLIKEMENOMORE.

From Woonsocket, RI: Sprint 2, one of the earliest racing video games ever made (Sprint 1 was actually made afterward), BIN at over $1000 but currently has no bids at $595. Shipping quotes available from seller upon request.

From Miami, Florida: Dr. Mario Vs, LPU, ends soon with no bids at $420. Sweet.

From San Jose, California: Original “Zero Wing” Arcade Marquee, $19….if this actually came with the rest of Zero Wing it’d be worth some coin.

From Woonsocket, RI: Millipede, BIN at $655 but ends soon with no bids at $449. Shipping quotes available from seller upon request.

ALSO: Disney has finally finished the original Gargoyles series on DVD, but you can only buy the newly released Season Two, Part Two via joining their Movie Club program and buying five other DVD titles….UNLESS you buy it from this officially licensed eBay merchant for $21. For all third-party vendors, the markup is way higher. You’re welcome!
