Gears Of War 2 COG

The original gears is sadly, actually on my massive backlist. I might actually try to remedy that soon, as I really want to play the sequel (but would like to play the original first).

Anyway, this real metal cog is part of a viral marketing campaign by Microsoft. The cog is engraved with a special serial number (called a CSID – Coalition Security Identification Device?). Along with the serial number are instructions to enter the CSID code at a specific Microsoft-owned URL.

It seems like a certain number of entered codes will unlock additional content. Very cool item.
