This Limited Edition Original XBOX Console is somewhat similar to the US Mountain Dew LE XBOX (identical in color), only much rarer. The Hulk XBOX was made to commemorate the release of the Universal Pictures movie “Hulk” in 2003 for the UK release. The console features a jewel on top with the promotional image of the Incredible Hulk’s eye, and the Pepsi Logo. These Special editions were only available by having a winning scratchcard when you bought a popcorn and Pepsi combo in participating UK UCI multiplex cinemas. This is actually one of the rarest XBOX LE systems, as 35 or less is the production number usually tossed around.
If you want to bid on this, you’re probably going to have to contact the seller. I tired to throw in a bid but can’t due to country restrictions. Edit: Seller opened it up to international after I contacted him.
EDIT: Link was broke, fixed.
Thanks Jon!
While we’re on the topic of Limited Edition XBOX systems, there are a few more up at the moment:
The auction sates (which is copied from Wikipedia)
On March 14, 2004, the Crystal Limited Edition Xbox was released in Europe to celebrate the Xbox’s European birthday. With a price tag of €199/£139, the Crystal Limited Edition came with a transparent console and two matching Crystal Controller S. It is unknown how many Crystal Limited Editions were produced, however; later bundles were released pairing a re-released Crystal Xbox with different Xbox games and Xbox Live subscriptions. The Crystal console was re-released on October 8, 2004 in a new bundle (but with only one controller) at the normal Xbox price of €149/£99. A Crystal Controller S was also available separately. During summer of 2004 a special Crystal bundle was released to Zellers and Wal-Mart stores in Canada. The bundle included a crystal S Controller, and 2 games: Fable and Crimson Skies. There was a limit of 4 consoles per Zellers store.
I know this is partially wrong at least, as EB Games was promoting this as a Christmas Bundle at one point. My wife (Girlfirend at the time) bought me one. Good gal, I tell you. She also picked up KOTR for me.
Edit: Here’s a cheaper one
Panzer Dragoon Orta Special Edition
This XBOX was released to Japan in 2002 to commemorate the release of Panzer Dragoon Orta. With a limited production of 999 units, the console features a white case with the Panzer Dragoon Orta logo on the top in the lower left hand corner, as well as some artwork from Orta surrounding the XBOX jewel. It was originally priced at Â¥35,800 (roughly $300.00 US) and was only available through preorder from Sega Direct. It’s possible that the ordering was only available for one day, but I can’t confirm that. Included with the Special Edition console was a matching white S CoOntroller, an Xbox Component A/V cable, an Xbox Component AV pack, a copy of Panzer Dragoon Orta with its soundtrack CD, and a dragon head necklace.
The Mountain Dew Limited Edition XBOX was only available through a Mountain Dew sweepstakes which required you to collect point and then redeem them for the console. The sweepstakes was over a five month period, from April to August in 2004. There seems to have been 5000 of these made available. The system itself was neon-green colored and had a special jewel atop marked “Limited Edition” and with the Mountain Dew logo under the XBOX Logo. Bundled with the hardware were one of two games, Project Gotham Racing 2 or Amped 2.
The Pure White Limited XBOX Console was released in Japan on February 22, 2004, to commemorate the console’s two-year anniversary. The system had a limited run of 1,000 units and allowed purchasers to personalize their console with up to twenty letters (no Japanese characters) engraved on the system case. “Limited Edition 2004” was also carved into the jewel of the console, and into the White S Controller (right below the XBOX logo). The original retail was Â¥19,800 yen (roughly $186.00 US) and was only available for purchase online at the Official XBOX Japan website between the dates of January 30 and February 6, 2004. Included with the Pure White console was a matching S Controller. DVD Playback Kit, and an Xbox Live Starter Kit with a free one-year membership and voice communicator.
