Pepsi Invaders (Coke Wins) Atari 2600

Have a Coke and a Smile! That is exactly what Mike McCarthy thought to himself when he discovered one of the rarest Atari 2600 cartridges out in the wild. Well, not necessarily in the wild, it had already been “discovered” at a local Florida video gaming store where Mike found it sitting in a bin of other common Atari cartridges for sale a few couple weeks ago. After doing a double take, Mike realized that he had in his hands Pepsi Invaders (or sometimes called Coke Wins) a very rare and low production cartridge that was given away by Coke to its employees at a 1983 sales convention.
This rare title was actually developed for Coke by Atari and is a “hack” of Space Invaders where your ship is shooting down the letters that spell P-E-P-S-I. According to sources there were only 125 of these produced for the attendees of the sales convention and only a few are currently known to exist, at least in collectors hands. What did Mike pay for this treasure? A mere $5. The moral to this story is don’t assume your local game shops have a clue about what they might have in stock. Check your local gaming stores out frequently because you never know what you might find.
Mike has decided to put up his newly found treasure up for auction right here on GameGavel.com. If you are a Coke OR Pepsi memorabilia collector or hardcore Atari collector here’s your chance to bid on one of the rarest Atari 2600 carts in existence. The auction link is below if you want follow the action or bid. Good luck!
