Sega Genesis VR Headset Test Cartridge

The Sega VR was a planned, but never released Virtual Reality accessory. Due to negative reactions to consumer testing and poor quality assurance results, the headset never passed the prototype stage.

Four games were apparently developed for the system, each using 16 Mb cartridges that were to be bundled with the headset. One of these was Iron Hammer, which our very own Nicola owns.

You can check out a vintage CES video of the game in action here.

Currently, up for auction is a cartridge that allows you to test functionality of Headset. According to the seller, this is the only one found so far.
