Like him or not, The Angry Video Game Nerd has made quite an impact on the video game scene, both for collectors and video game enthusiasts. If you are unfamiliar with his work, here are a few exerpts of the basis of his show from wikipedia (I’m too lazy to write my own summary):Â
 The Angry Video Game Nerd is the character and title of a series of farcical retrogaming video reviews by James Rolfe.  The show generally revolves around retro game reviews that involve bitter rants against games he has deemed to be of particularly low-quality or poor design. The series began as a feature on YouTube, and later joined ScrewAttack Entertainment, which would later have three of its features, including the AVGN, transferred to GameTrailers exclusively.
 The Nerd character is a short-tempered and foul-mouthed video game fanatic. He derives comic appeal from excessive and inventive use of profanity, frequent displays of explicit gestures, and the consumption of beer, particularly Rolling Rock, and on a few occasions Yuengling. A particular characteristic, which has become something of a trademark of his character, is for him to describe, in great detail, extremely repulsive and painful, usually firmly scatological acts, and to claim that he would rather endure them than to play the game that he is reviewing. Varying amounts of physical comedy are mixed into the verbal abuses.
Anyhow, before each episode starts there is a still Title Card of either the game or subject he will be focusing on. There are currently 7 of these title cards up for auction (Cheetahmen 2, Rocky, Action 52, AVGN DVD 2, Fireball Island, Deadly Danger Dungeon and Ninja Gaiden) with current bids being between $21 and $305. Each card is signed by the artist, Mike Matei, and James himself. I already dropped the ball and missed out on posting some of the cards that ended on the 15th, the coolest in my opinion being this card for Zelda 2, so here’s your chance to acquire something unique for your collection if you are a huge AVGN fan.Â
Will items like this hold any type of value? While I’m sure that the AVGN will stick around as long as he can, all fads tend to fade, especially ones that require an almost cultish-like  followings so make sure you are buying these for a personal love of the show and/or game they represent.
