Yoshi’s Cookie – Kuruppon Oven de Cookie (Super Famicom)

There is surprisingly little information online about this rare Super Famicom game, often referred to as Yoshi’s Cookie Oven Version. What I have here is from trolling several sites and forums, so if anyone can shed more information, please do so.

Essentially the game is a special version of Yoshi’s cookie. It was made by Panasonic to commemorate the release of its Kuruppon Oven, which from what I gather, is somewhat reminiscent of an EZ Bake Oven. What’s different is that the game included an extra mode called “cooking adventure”.

It it, Yoshi moves around on a Super Mario World styled map screen. You move around, select levels, remove blocks in your way and progress to new worlds. In doing so, Yoshi unlocks recipe tutorials that can be used in real life, to bake goodies such as Checkerboard Cookies, Heart Cookies, and Flower Cookies. Someone online actually took the time to translate said recipes, which you can find here.

Obviously, the game is rather rare. All the information seems to point to 500 copies and previous asking prices seem to have ranged from $1500 – $2500. I’ve also seen it sell for under $200.
