Zelda Ocarina of Time N64 German Special Edition

I’m not sure if one of these has sold since the last time we mentioned it, back in 2010.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Special Edition was only released in Germany, back in 1998 when the game was released in Europe. Possibly as an exclusive from a gameshop in Berlin, Cyber Games. The exact quantity of the Special Edition is unknown and the last auction claimed only four were confirmed to be in collectors hands.

On the back of the Special Edition-box there are two logo’s: one of ‘Cyber Games’ and one Nintendo-logo. It is the Nintendo-logo with the globe behind it, saying it’s an International Licensed Product. The back also contains yellow letters on the side, which says the following, in German:

“The Legend of Zelda – Ocarina of Time (c) 1998 Nintendo Co., Ltd. Lizenz durch Ellipse License Germany. Anderungen in Artikeln und Irrtumer vorbehalten.”

The box closes with two pieces of velcro, and includes the German version of the The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time inside. This is the PAL-version and will only play on European and/or Australian Nintendo 64-machines. It also includes all the inlays, T-Shirt (unworn) and sealed Pin Badge.

It’s hard to know exactly what came in the box originally, as some collectors have claimed this was sold without the pin and t-shirt. It’s possibly they did not come with the special edition box, but you could buy it separately. The fact I have seen this with both a white and black t-shirt could lend some credibility to that.

I think the last one sold for somewhere in the $1200 -$1400 range, and the previous for around $1300.
