Goomba Bust from Super Mario Bros. Movie

Super Mario Bros. movie was probably one of the most horrible game to movie adaptation in history. But as bad as that may sound, I’m sure some of us own the DVD. One of the weirdest characters in the movie was the Goomba. Characters from either books or games are often exaggerated in movies and this is a prime example of that. The Goomba doesn’t even look like a Goomba anymore. It looked more like a human dinosaur – on drugs.

Anyways, this guy is selling the actual bust used to create the mask for the Goomba in the Super Mario Bros movie. The character was based off of a design by Patrick Tatapolous and was brought to life by Vince Niebla (who also worked on Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine). The bust is made of hollow cast resin and measures 13″ X 9″. The seller has 6 of them listed at $150 each.

Here’s a picture of Vince Niebla painting the Goomba mask from his website (very cool).
