There are several Korean NES games on eBay at the moment. Condition looks a little rough, but these don’t show up on eBay very ofter. Only one I’ve seen in the last three months has been a loose SMB/DH which sold for $36.00. In Korea the NES was released by Hyundai as the Comboy. At that time there was still a ban on Japanese cultural items so Sega and Nintendo couldn’t (or chose not to) publish games directly. Samsung did the publishing/licensing for Sega and Hyundai did the same for Nintendo.

Sega Saturn Test Unit made by Sega Japan
Because the Japanese Dreamcast came out a year before the American version we couldn’t test American games on Japanese units. The US units weren’t ready yet but we needed to start working on US software so Sega of Japan sent us over these units. I’m not sure if they are Japanese systems that are altered or are pre-production US units since I’ve never opened the unit. But it acts just like a retail US system and does not play JPN or PAL software. There is no serial number, no model number, no sticker at all on the bottom. Comes with a 36k modem. I stupidly put a sticker on the lid but it’s cosmetic only. Unit works perfectly. I was playing Samba De Amigo on it last week. Once the US system finally was released we couldn’t use these units anymore for legit purposes and they were given away to employees.

Sonic R Sega Saturn White Label
I worked on this game (my name is actually in the credits) and after the game was finish, it got sent to the factory to put the official Sega security seal on it so it could play in retail kits. These discs are known as “silvers”. Theses are used to ensure that the factory pressing was ok, and to send to the press for review copies. I got this from the marketing team before they put a label on it to ship out to the press. They wrote “Sonic R” on it so we would know what disc it was to be labeled. This game is the real deal, directly from Sega’s factory and I was just playing it this morning. The game disc is in mint condition as it’s only been removed from this sleeve once or twice. It has the security strip on it that reads “PRODUCED BY OR UNDER LICENSE FROM SEGA ENTERPRISES LTD. TRADEMARK SEGA (the Sega logo) and I can include one of my old Sega business cards in the package as proof that it came directly from Sega. This is NOT a pre-production disc, this is NOT an alpha/beta, but the final version that works in any retail Sega Saturn sold in the US. It is a press review copy.
