This is my good friend, Danny.
Danny has always had a serious problem with money. In fact, he constantly finds himself dead broke - more on that later.
First, understand that the Internet has changed many things in our lives. Easy concept to grasp, right? But, as 'they' say, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Take the cost of goods. Sure, the ever-growing digitization of past business models allows more small business (increasing competition and driving down prices). However, certain items still retain their value (such as retro video games and the collectors items in that world).
My friend Dan recently made a string of bad purchases. Like the rest of us, he is a die-hard video game collector and retro gaming nut. However, he doesn't always make the best use of his money.
Don't get me wrong, I get it. Retro game collecting isn't logical. It isn't something you do for basic survival. Nostalgia is more of a matter of the heart than one of the head.
However, when Dan came to me with his tale of woe, I felt so bad for the guy. He told me all about how he made his initial purchase from this site. The owner assured him he was purchasing an authentic controller that was used with a store display model. 100% authentic Nintendo merchandise. Imagine Dan's disappointment when he found out he had been duped! His delivery date rolled around and what did he find in the manila envelope on his doorstep? Not one but two poorly made clone controllers.
What's worse, the controllers didn't even work on his system. Dan has an original SNES (he's all about authenticity in his Nintendo collection). ?"Did I Really Need To Spend $20 on A Fake Chinese SNES Controller??" I felt so awful for the guy!
However, it didn't have to go down this way. Had Dan reached out to me first, I would have explained why purchasing what he thought was an original controller from a dubious source was a bad decision.
Controllers aren't valuable, and ultimately aren't worth much consideration. There! I said it. I may take some flak for this, but outside of how well a controller affects your gaming they aren't worth much thought. Besides a few exceptions, traditional controllers are often mass produced. Especially when talking about the stock controllers that came with your retro console. I can certainly understand people wanting to purchase original merchandise to build an authentic collection. Heck, my father-in-law has a brass era EMF car with original parts. He spends copious dollars and time keeping the car in a condition that one would expect an EMF to be in back in the late 20th century. So, I can certainly appreciate a retro collection staying true to its era. But, after this terrible experience, Dan took a break from collecting. He ended up missing out on a few bargain priced rare SNES games that would have completed his collection. Personally, I blame the controllers!
My recommendation for Dan would have been something similar to what we're offering here. Find a high quality SNES controller clone from a seller you can trust. Try it out. If you don't like it or think you'll like something else instead, you can always request a refund. Worst case scenario: you're only out a few bucks and still have a decent, functioning controller to work with.
I started GameSniped with the intent to help people like Dan. I hate it when people are taken advantage of with outrageously high priced collector's items. I feel like some people try to take advantage of our love for nostalgia. When I started the site, I wanted to change this. Sure, you can purchase this complete lot of E3 2006 merchandise for a markup of 300%. But, instead, wouldn't you rather check out these reasonably priced, individually sourced items that I've put together for you and use your remaining money for your retro games?
That's what we're doing here. We have a classic style SNES controller modeled after the original. For a limited time, we're selling them at very little profit for just $4.99! There's no trickery. This is a clone controller made to look, feel, and play just like that controller you grew up on! It's being offered at a rock bottom priced. And, it controls quite nicely. The best part is, you can trust us. We offer a full refund up to 60 days from purchase if you aren't satisfied!
We want to ensure you have a wonderful experience with GameSniped. Part of that positive experience is 'going the extra mile' to ensure you're happy with your purchase. Are you unhappy with your recent purchase? Maybe the item is defective or never arrived. Don't worry! Rest easy knowing you can simply request a refund should any issues arise. You can request a full refund up to 60 days from purchase if you aren't satisfied!
