Nintendo DS Pokemon Jirachi Distribution Cart (NFR)

Basically this is a cartridge used for an event which lets you get a special Pokemon. It allows other DSes in the area to download it over WiFi.

From the seller:

Allright, so I happened to snag this up off of ebay during the Super Bowl, where the original person selling it had a very cheap ‘Buy It Now’, and I happened to snatch it up as soon as it was listed, so if you do a search on ebay for it under ‘Completed Listings’, you will see it, that is what’s up for grabs here today. The original person selling this obviously did not know what this was worth. But I am not going to horde this HOLY GRAIL(as of now at least)! I am going to give the general public a chance to own this EXCLUSIVE Pokemon DS cart!

This cart was made exclusively for GAMESTOP stores and only for use early last year at GAMESTOP stores! THIS CART WAS NOT AVAILABLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC! This cart was used to wirelessly give customers an exclusive Jirachi AND Pichu Pokemon characters if they brought in their Nintendo DS with either Pokemon Pearl, Platinum or Diamond game installed. Each was only available to download for a short time in early 2010, and then the cart was removed from the store demo unit, never to be seen again! There was only 1 of these per store, and then the carts were sent back to Nintendo where they would have been destroyed. Fortunately, this one slipped through the cracks, and we are lucky enough to have it here today so one of you hardcore POKEMON, NINTENDO, OR DEMO and PROMO video game collectors can add this super-rare piece to your collection! THIS IS AN EXCLUSIVE POKEMON NINTENDO DS CART AND QUITE POSSIBLY THE ONLY ONE THAT YOU WILL SEE!

These exclusive characters will work with Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, SoulSilver, HeartGold and the Pokewalker!!! Exclusive characters also unlocks hidden areas AND other Pokemon!!

The front is simply entitled ‘Pokemon’ with ‘Pokemon Distribution Only’ under it and ‘Not For Resale’ under that. It does have the standard ‘Nintendo DS’ written on the top of it. Labeled ‘E for Everyone’. ‘The Pokemon Company’.

The back has a plain white label with ‘Not For Resale’ written on it with ‘GAMECARD DEMO #3364’ Written under it.

I know three guys who have been collecting NFR DS Carts pretty actively and I`m pretty sure neither one has this yet. In fact, from Googling and checking completed eBay auctions for the past year, I can only find one other copy for sure. I can also find references to these being limited to 4200 copies, but can`t confirm that.

I also know the seller has had offers on it at around the $300.00 mark, so it will be interesting to see if anyone hits the $499.99 opening bid.
