Stalker Collector Coin (S.T.A.L.K.E.R.)

S.T.A.L.K.ER is a series of first-person shooters (with RPG elements) by the Ukrainian developer GSC Game World, the first of which was published in 2007. It features an alternate reality theme, where a second nuclear disaster occurs at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in the near future and causes strange changes in the area around it.

I haven’t actually played the games myself, but they have been pretty well received.

Here’s what I undestand about this coin though. When the second game was released, there was no North American Collectors Edition. However, there were some pretty cool CE’s for other countires such as Poland and Russia.

This guy (a fellow Canadian) started a petition for a NSTC CE, but after learning there would be none, said screw it and decided to produce a collector coin dedicated to S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

100 were made in total and sold globally for $18.00 USD plus shipping. The Breakdown? 36 France, 33 USA, 9 Canada, 4 UK, 3 Netherlands, 2 Germany, 2 Ukraine, 1 Australia, 1 Austria, 1 Bulgaria, 1 Czech Republic, 1 New Zealand, 1 Norway, 1 Romania, 1 Spain, 1 Sweden.

Since then it appears to have become the holy grail for fans of the series.
